Texts, consent and recording
When we text a caller, what we ask first, and how to stop.
What this is
VentLine AI runs an automated phone assistant for small home services businesses. Air conditioning shops first. A customer rings one of those shops, nobody picks up, and the assistant picks up instead.
How a call is handled
The phone rings for about twenty seconds with nobody answering, or the call lands after hours. Then the assistant answers. It says in its first sentence that it is an automated assistant. It takes the caller's name, address and what has gone wrong, books a service visit on the shop's own calendar, and sends the caller a text confirming it.
Texts and consent
Consent is collected in two places. On the call, the assistant asks the caller whether they want a text confirmation, and the call is recorded. On the shop's web form there is a consent checkbox, and a caller who ticks it may get a call and texts from the assistant about the request they sent in.
Messages are one to one and transactional: booking confirmations, replies about rescheduling, follow ups about that same request. We send no marketing texts. Every text names the business the caller contacted and ends with a way to opt out.
Message frequency varies by request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
A caller's name, phone number, address and request go to the business they called and to nobody else. We do not sell them. The privacy page carries the full policy.
Recording
Calls answered by the assistant are recorded. The notice plays at the start of the call, before anything is asked.
